The first opium war was waged in 1839 and Mo yan 德国人顾彬:余华莫言是落后作家 他们根本不懂人是什么 读书小马甲8天前259评论 德国汉学家顾彬对大家而言可能是个陌生的名字,这里简单的介绍一下他: 德国人顾彬:余华莫言是落后作家 他们根本不懂人是什么 顾彬 沃尔夫冈·顾彬(Wolfgang Kubin),中文名顾彬,1945年生于德国下萨克森州策勒市。著名汉学家,翻译家,作家。波恩大学汉学系教授,德国翻译家协会及德国作家协会成员。他是德国最著名的汉学家之一,以中国古典文学、中国现当代文学和中国思想史为主要研究领域。主要作品和译著有《中国诗歌史》《二十世纪中国文学史》《鲁迅选集》六卷本等。 当顾彬把中国当代小说比作为“大个的火腿”时,不禁让人想起了莫言的《丰乳肥臀》,那本厚得像砖头的小说还真是个大家伙。而顾彬的形象有点像小一号,或者说清瘦版的史泰龙。他看上去基本上是一个温文尔雅的人,他的语调也没有丝毫火药味,但是话一出口,就像洛奇的出拳一样凶狠。 而这一次 ,以“中国当代文学垃圾论”闻名的他没有把谁比作垃圾,可是余华、格非、苏童、莫言,这些当代中国文学的中坚力量,在他眼里比垃圾也好不了多少,“他们根本不知道人是什么。”他几乎判了他们的“死刑”。 中国当代作家根本不知道人是什么 作者|顾彬 星期柒新闻周刊:提起您,就会想到“中国当代文学是垃圾”这个话题。绕开“垃圾”,让我们从您的另外一个有意思的判断开始今天的对话。您说过1949年前,中国文学,也就是现代文学是五粮液;1949年后中国文学,也就是当代文学是二锅头。这是不是有种时代决定论的味道?因为我们知道即便是同一个时代,也会有不同的作家。 顾彬:那是因为1949年前后,中国文坛发生了很大的变化。在三四十年代,中国在文学上比一些欧洲的国家进步得多。而在1949年后,中国就和现代性的文学告别了。1949年前,就有一部分中国作家希望文学能够帮助中国得到解放,文学应该为政治服务,比较有代表性的作家是何其芳和臧克家。今天来看,他们走的这条路被证明是错的,因为文学应该是为语言,为艺术,为美学而服务。现在,中国的文学基本上不再和政治相联系。 星期柒新闻周刊:您在去年出版了《20世纪中国文学史》,据介绍,您是站在世界文学的角度,来对中国文学作出判断和评价的? 顾彬:是的。20世纪上半叶,中国文学可以和世界其他国家的文学相媲美,像法国、意大利、西班牙,没问题。1949年到1979年,恐怕只能和东欧国家的文学相比较。1979年以后,中国的诗歌肯定没有问题,80年代的中国诗人可以和世界上重要的诗人相比较。从戏剧来看,中国在80年代做过一些现代化的努力,但是成就没法与同时代的世界戏剧相比,因为中国的戏剧基本都是模仿的作品。从小说来看,在80年代,中国还是出了一些好的作品,比如张洁的一些写妇女问题的小说。她的思想和当时国际上的价值观很接近,所以她的小说很容易被欧洲的读者所接受,她当时在德国非常红。王蒙的小说也具备了国际水平。但是80年代,中国文学的成就主要在诗歌,而不是小说。 星期柒新闻周刊:再往后呢? 顾彬:从1992年以后看,中国文学和世界文学一样,也慢慢迈上了走向市场的路。德国读者大部分不看德国文学。在德国出版的文学作品,70%都不是德国文学。德国读者喜欢看美国小说和中国小说。为什么呢?因为1945年以后,欧洲的小说家不再写什么真正的故事,对小说而言,不再是讲故事的时代。唯一还写故事的作家是美国人和中国人。这也是美国和中国小说受德国读者欢迎的原因。但这些读者不包括知识分子,也不包括汉学家。这些读者的文学素养和文化水平都是比较低的。 在德国,我们把通俗文学作品称作为火腿。火腿,你今天买,一年后你还能吃,在路上在旅行的时候也可以吃。德国读者旅行时喜欢带上一本书。这本书应该比较厚,比较大,就像火腿一样。莫言、余华、苏童、毕飞宇,他们在中国发表的书,到了德国以后,变成了火腿。德国知识分子、文学家看到这些书以后就会觉得很反感。他们会觉得,这些书不是为我而写而出版的,它们是给不了解真正文学的那些人看的。让他们觉得好玩,从中得到乐趣。所以中国当代小说,在德国根本不属于严肃文学。 中国当代诗人不一样。德国人和中国人一样,很少有人看诗歌。但是无论是哪个城市,无论是哪个文化中心,如果请中国诗人来朗诵或者开座谈会,至少会来40个人,有时候会多到100个人、250个人。如果中国小说家来,最多来10个、20个读者。 中国当代作家根本不知道人是什么 星期柒新闻周刊:您刚才提到的这些作家,在中国都算是严肃作家,而且都曾经是先锋派。怎么到了德国就成了通俗作家了呢? 顾彬:因为他们讲故事。莫言的《生死疲劳》,还特别用章回体来写。欧洲的作家写小说通常都写一个人,莫言的小说一写就是几十个人,这让人受不了。中国当代小说家,他们不会写人的内心,他们根本不知道人是什么。他们写的都是人的表象。中国的当代小说家写不出一个城市的味道来。王安忆写上海,她写的是一个非常抽象的上海。中国当代小说家喜欢讲已经讲过的故事,他们没有什么想象力。 我们为什么不需要故事呢?我们看报纸,看电视,听新闻,生活里有作家们想不出来的故事。我们需要的不是故事,而是揭示。但是中国当代作家没办法给我们揭示什么东西,不能给我们揭示为什么会发生某件事情,为什么一个地方会有某个特点,为什么有人会跳楼,为什么有人会对生活失望,人应该走什么路,人应该怎么办。 星期柒新闻周刊:回答您这样的问题,难道不应该通过一个故事来表现吗? 顾彬:应该看这个作家有没有思想。现在的作家都是为了钱而写作。他们写作不会少写一句话,而一定会多写一句话。因为多写一句话,他们可以多拿一点钱。德国的翻译家翻译中国的小说,要“翻死了”。德国翻译家翻译中国作家的作品都是意译,都是减缩的。中国的小说都太冗长了。 在德国文学界看来,美国和中国的小说都是通俗小说。 … Continue reading
