The Captain of Industry<\/p>\n

Chou Hs\u00fceh-hsi (Jan 12, 1866 Jinling \u2013 Sept 26, 1947 Beijing), the fourth son of\u00a0Zhou Fu<\/a>, born in Jinling (now known as Nanjing),\u00a0was an industrialist of northern China. He served as the Minister of Finance for the Republic of China twice, from 1912 to 1913, and from 1915 to 1916. Closely associated with Yuan Shikai. In the first two decades of the twentieth century, he had created\u00a0many\u00a0enterprises and institutions<\/a>, with\u00a0Chee Hsin Cement<\/a>\u00a0as his cornerstone.<\/p>\n
