Death of a salesman

Summit at Massanutten in the Shenandoah Valley is a decent resort, spacious units are built on the cliffs over looking the valley. It’s a year around place. We’ve been there before, kids actually learn to enjoy ski in Virginia, out of all the possible places, good few years back during one of the [...]

The Spring break tennis

Surprisingly I met a group of girls from Maryland at the Massanutten in Virginia.  This resort at Shenandoah Valley is neither known for golfers nor tennis players.  It used to have a 9-hole short course now expanded into 18 holes and an 18-hole.  The short course was much nicer before the expansion, now inter-linked with roads.  Golfers have to [...]

Bahamas 1992

Published by The Kibbitzer under Going Places

After we booked a tennis camp, I found out I was pregnant.  My in-laws persuaded us not to go.  So Bahamas it was.  By the time we arrived at Nassau, I was just starting my second trimester.  I played tennis anyway, with a coach.  The two bed/bath condo at Sandpipper was great, right on the sandy beach.  Rolled out [...]

The Southerners

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Finally our timeshare at Hilton Head is complete, set up with the exchange company RCI, the last step. What appalling to me was the resort we purchased, Coral Reef or Reba Management. They’re very incompetent and irresponsible. First they delay the process, then they demand $3,000 conversion fee for new owners. Matt at the company [...]

Widowhood 孤儿寡母

Published by The Kibbitzer under Going Places, Sports

X’mas day at the Hilton Head, played exhilarating tennis with Pumpkin, biked, early morning walk on the beach .. .. in the afternoon, I wanted to take kids for a hot chocolate while waiting for Golfer finishing up his golf. Turned out, nothing opened. How could the caddies work but not a single coffee or [...]

Tree of life

Published by The Kibbitzer under Going Places

Animal Kingdom has a huge Tree of Lifeas center piece .. this one at the entrance of the Sea Pines tennis club in Hilton Head isn’t in the same league, size-wise, but equally attractive.  Next door is the PGA golf course Harbour Town.

Walking the beach

Atlantic Ocean @ Hilton Head ..  A dig/ruin abandoned by my kids ..
A walk on the beach is very refreshing, but not sure it’s enjoyable if you do it day in and day out,

Trek a maze

Published by The Kibbitzer under Going Places

It’s been more than six month since we purchased third time share week.   Thing got to a smoothie start and we got our deed made in June, recorded in August, then the title was transferred to us in October.  Thought we’re done.  Na.  The hard part began.  The resort Coral Reef or Reba Management is such lousy [...]

Coral Reef Resort

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

So far, our Hilton Head timeshare is progressing well.  After the paypal and the actual signing of the contract, we’re informed by e-mail by the Timeshare Closing Services, Inc. today that the deed has been sent to deed recording, which will take 9-11 weeks in that county.  Postmaster just delievered a copy of the executed Deed.

Timeshare

Published by The Kibbitzer under Going Places

It’s a Memorial Day weekend 17 years ago that I first heard of timeshare.  A Filipino coworker saw me looking for a weekend trip so she offered me the ‘opportunity’, charging me $200 for a 2-night stay in the Poconos, the condition for the cheapness was that we had to attend a tour.  She never disclosed [...]
