Tulip is my favorite, simple and elegant.
The other day my kids sat me down for an emergemcy meeting.  King told me that I have touch of death, and Pumpkin wondered out loud why would shop still sell to me.  Eeerrrrrrhhh my supportive family.  I used them as an example, saying you know, you guys are pretty [...]

Back to the future?

Published by The Kibbitzer under Horticulture

How about this green thumb?  Don’t you just love the American’s ingenuity???  Am I spending too much time in the home stores??  A little over the board?  It actually reminds me of Art.  One day after a doubles game, he took out newly purchased digital camera .. long time ago when it first came on to the market - showing us [...]

A cheat sheet

Published by The Kibbitzer under Horticulture

10/23/2007

Give birth or adapt?  I decided to cheat, after waiting, nursing for couple of month.  Shopping in the supermarket, came upon those two robust cuties.  Have to have them.  Sunday night dinner was sublime with herbs: lots of breads, cheeses, flavored olive oil, fresh mozzarella w/ tomato, steaks .. :).  Stay the course with me, pls?

A failed attempt?

Foliage brought the late autumn, golden leaves blot out the sky and cover up the ground all around.  Most of my babies have died, or about to. Should I shelf the hobby as someone knows her limit or bravely continues on with my endeavor?

My mom found horticulture was very bourgeoisie, which was the wrong thing [...]

Cactus

Published by The Kibbitzer under Horticulture

Those cactus were survivors out of 4 we had perhaps since 2000.  Doesn’t the right one look like Woodie’s ghost?

Pixie Lily

Published by The Kibbitzer under Horticulture

I didn’t read too closely, it’s an out door thing, only flowers in the summer. What do I do with pot of dirt during the other 3 seasons, if they were to survive my brown thumbs or green pinkys?

Desperate housewife

Published by The Kibbitzer under Horticulture

I don’t think I’m quite a fit to be a housewife, long fancied myself a career woman.  OK, that’s a joke.  But really, shopping at home store was never my cup of tea.  But recently I acquired few new tastes, taking a great interests in home stores, nurseries, and I even bought a set of rosewood [...]

Hot babe 小辣椒

Published by The Kibbitzer under Horticulture

In Beijing lingo, we call someone with short temper as little hot pepper 小辣椒.  It’s more or less refers to 朝天椒, out of numerous different chili peppers.  I’m not an expert of chili pepper other than I like to eat, but 朝天椒 is one of the spicy ones, if not the spiciest.  I have always [...]

Tulip

Tulip is my favored flower, simple and elegant (so are Georgia K’Keeffe’s paintings).  When we came to see this house, there was a single yellow tulip amid bare surroundings, was very striking.  Golfer planted a lot, but don’t know what’s happened to them this year, :-(.
Holland is very much associated with tulip .. aside from bicycling, raised river, [...]

The Italian trios 三毛流浪记

Published by The Kibbitzer under Horticulture

I got it on 8/31, 10 days later, this is what I achieved: a 3/4 quarter bald, completely bald and 3-hair bald .. hence the 三毛流浪记 :).  Isn’t bald beautiful?  IMHO it is, but … but pls not on my plant!  How about a full head of hair of basil, chives and oregano?  Chiapet??

Playing hard ball

I played a relative mistake free match with Simon against Bob and Peter.  I choked 3 points in the tie break = lost.  When the ball comes fast and furious, I seem to have a better answer for it than when it’s soft, I mostly don’t know what to do, with too much time on hand.  Story of [...]
