北京早期集邮家徐某初探

来源:扬子邮趣  发布时间:2007-08-17 近读张林侠《北京早期中的集邮报道》一文(载2004.9.7《中国集邮报》),颇感兴趣。文中提1918年3月16日北京出版《晨报》“本京新闻”《将有邮票赛会》的报道写道:“近来,华人亦有珍视邮票而收藏之者。兹有徐某、豫某收藏古今各国邮票甚多,特拟于天坛地方发起邮票展览会。”张林侠在文中提到:“徐某、豫某是谁?……目前未发现点滴史料。” 据笔者所见史料推测,徐某就是北京早期集邮家徐慕邢,现将徐慕邢集邮事迹简介如下,供各位邮史爱好者参考。 徐慕邢字南虎,英文名Su Mu-hsing,安徽南陵人,生于清光绪十五年(1889年)。青年入京为官,曾任北洋政府徐世昌总统府秘书。后赴上海,曾任杜月笙私人秘书。在北京时爱上集邮,此后乐此不疲。1926年加入中华邮票会,名列90号,积极赞助周今觉会长发展会务,被推举为董事,基金部、总务部、编辑部理事。1939年加入新光邮票会,名列923号(会员证73号),翌年被推选为理事。他不仅热衷于收集邮票,热心邮会活动,还有邮文行世,是中国早期著名集邮家。 徐慕邢集邮开始于1924年,时年25岁,少年得志,收入不菲,进展很快,至1918年春,已收罗各种邮票10万多枚。据徐自述:“余集邮开始远在民国三四年间,时方宦游北平。东安市场鲁人杨瑞年者,以买卖邮花为业,偶过其处,驻足而观,不觉好奇心油然而动。乃选购色泽鲜艳之西邮怀之而归。久之以不谙西文,更不辨国籍,似了无兴趣,遂幡改变作风 ,大量购置前清各项分、角、元数等票,不论新旧,广事搜罗,先后购入者约有十余万枚。归而分类编非,盛到匣中,五彩缤纷,朝夕把玩,引为乐事。然所费亦不过数百元而已。朋侪皆讥余以有用之钱掷诸虚地,余亦一笑置之。时国内集邮者如凤毛麟角,寥若星辰,既无研求切磋之友,更不少参考指导之书,故进步綦难,彷徨不知所措。有时遽尔灰心,即束诸高阁,不知所购之票,其中搀杂变体等票甚多,若各种中华民国倒印或无边漏齿及一分壬字头者。嗣后略窥门径,始仔细逐一捡点,皆成现时不可多得之品,而红印花各项加盖票,亦复应有尽有。”(《余之集邮谭》载《邮典》第一卷第五期,1940年11月出版) 上述文字可知徐慕邢在京集邮概况。徐在上海亦活跃于邮坛,邮人对其评价甚高。陈志川在其主办的邮刊《海上邮人小志》专栏特予介绍:“徐君慕邢,安徽南陵人,年五十有三,昔年曾居故都,与已故名邮家袁寒云君为莫逆之交,与周今觉君亦为戚谊。集邮开始远在民国三四年间,中途停滞者凡数次。迨八一三后,从新振刷,罗致珍罕之品无数。所藏大致完全外,更有副集新票一部。而红印花之收藏尤为君所深爱,收集方连、全格复品甚丰。君秉性豪爽,有当其意者,皆不惜高价收买。去岁,得棣遗珍之红印花小一元新票,尤为名集生色不少。变体值得称诵者有红印花小二分及小四分复盖新票,民二次北京老版宫门倒印各一,清宋字加闰二角票六连内一横缝漏齿及其他红印花倒盖漏齿等等。实不愧为战后国内唯一进步之大邮家。君学识渊博,书法挺秀,本刊报眉即出君之手笔。君交游广阔,亦为沪上社交闻人之一也。”(载《国粹邮刊》第六期,1942.8.15出版) 徐慕邢邮文主要有《置邮谈荟》四篇,载《国粹邮刊》第24、25、26、27期,1943年10、11、12月出版。《徐慕邢君为创募本会基金致今觉会长函》载《邮典》一卷三期,1940.3出版)《邮海余沫》(署名“雁”)、《谈上海邮市近况》(署名徐南虎》载《邮苑》第三卷第二、三期,1946年4月、6月出版。徐慕邢20世纪二十至四十年长居上海,新中国成立后不知去向何处。 至于徐慕邢是否曾在1918年春准备参加在北京天坛举办的邮票展览会,据上述文字史料还不能确定。而徐慕邢是民国初年北京活跃的集邮家当可无疑。愿集邮同好披露更新史料,以充实北京集邮史。 附一:徐慕邢与红印花加盖小字当一元新票 1941年的寒冬,在上海。王纪泽听说老雷本的儿子小雷本(即费拉尔的外孙)有中国早期邮票,委托罗门邮票公司出让,其中就有红印花加盖小字当一元新票(即未用过的邮票)。王纪泽急匆匆赶到罗门公司 ,可是来晚了一步,这枚新票已被另一位集邮家徐慕邢购得。他懊恼不已,但并未却步。后经多方打听,终于在1943年的一天,在有集邮之王之誉的周今觉家中,新眼见到了这枚小一元新票,当时高兴得几乎跳动起来。王纪泽极力要求周今觉转让这枚珍邮,可这是周今觉的心爱之物,岂能忍痛割爱。但王纪泽并不甘心,三天两头地跑到周今觉的府上求让,真诚相求,也许是王纪泽这种滴水石穿的精打动了周今觉,并经其儿子周炜良的协助,王纪泽终于联合其他邮友凑齐130两黄金将这枚新小一元票及其他中外邮票购得。从此,王纪泽的五个面值八种红印花家族的邮票基本集全,达到了国内集邮界首屈一指的地步,令邮人刮目相看。就连邮王周今觉也十分佩服他这种锲而不舍的精神,亲笔为他的邮集题下五个大字红印花专集。 1965年冬,王纪泽为了防止这些国宝流失,他毅然地决定将这枚小一元新票及《红印花专集》捐献给国家。从此,这一对新、旧红印花加盖小一元珍邮,达到了珠联璧合同归国库的理想结果。
