Spotlight – sex abuse in the church

A well acted and written movie, on Boston Globe reporting on 6% (a list of 87 names …) Roman Catholic priests molesting boys. The influence of the churches in Boston is very strong that they can make court documents disappear; they can tell the well regarded journalist that “… Marty Baron (his boss, the editor) will move away … (and you’ll remain here) … that Boston is a small world …”

2016-07-14In the end, Cardinal Law who knew the abusive priests but chose to ignore the problem, by assigning them to another church “resigned, and was eventually promoted to the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, one of the biggest churches in the world.”

According to this wiki article, “… The 2016 Uniform Crime Report (UCR), which measures rapes that are known to police, estimated that there were 90,185 rapes reported to law enforcement in 2015. The 2016 National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), .. found that there were 431,840 incidents of rape or sexual assault in 2015.”

Taking 431,840 divided by the US population of 325,719,178 (2017), the sex crime rate is 1.3%.

A few should be burned in hell.

Six full percent, under the guise to guide, to protect, to … A few should be burned in hell.
Everytime I passed by or visited Vatican, I heard cries of the faceless & namesless victims …
