CC Chow‘s Painting Collection
Edited by Zhou Weizeng
May 2009

This is part of A Chinese in Bonn 波恩的中国人.

故乡月映小舟还

There are 12 paintings serenade to poems of Yangzhou in this collection: she harbored strong feelings toward Yangzhou, her hometown even she grew up in Tianjin.
Below right was two of them

山雨欲来风满楼 – 十二楼诗意图之六
绿水桥边多酒楼 – 十二楼诗意图之七

I can’t find the origins of the poem .. There is Slender West Lake, 瘦西湖 (Shou Xihu), and this is what I found about the 12 poems .. will have to do more research on this.

Jiujiu commented on her Chinese prowess: thumbs up. Although she spent most of her time overseas, but her understanding of classic Chinese was very deep and apt.
“She didn’t have good looking calligraphy but she never wrote 白字(baizi: wrongly written and mispronounced character) in all of her correspondence with me.”

Jan 29, 2012, Jiujiu:
Two of her paintings were in the book/exhibition called 黄炎子孙艺术展览 (?)
The 十二楼 paintings are at Tianjin Fine Arts Museum 天津艺术博物馆.

A long time ago, a German publisher offered to publish her paintings but that didn’t yield any fruit: the publisher kept on asking for more money. She did get her paintings back but not the money paid out.

This collection was done by Weizeng. When her Dad 九舅爷 学辉 passed away, he divided money for all his children, included CC Chow. Weizeng kept the money (she wasn’t in China at the time) and used this proceed to publish this painting collection.

Weizeng and the publisher decided not to obtain purchase a ISBN. He donated the majority – few hundred copies to NanKai University art department; gave to relatives and might still have 30 copies left.
