The Roland Garros

I visited Roland Garros yesterday: guided tour/museum only but no play :(. Oh Paris, do I miss tennis (and swimming). It seems only the US Open is open to the mass since Wimbledon is a private club (not sure about the Aussie’s).
The surrounding area of RG is very green, a lovely garden separate by the narrow street Avenue Gordon Bennett – an American journalist, as the street sign depicted. Bennett actually was a New Yorker and a very colorful character: of his many deeds, Gordon Bennett is a phrase in the United Kingdom, as an expression of incredulity. One can safely assume that Journaliste Américain is a misleading understatement.
I got off at Michel-Ange Auteuil, exploring the town a bit: nice and quaint. That stretch of rue Auteuil is lined with shops: kind of smoke free. I took Metro at Porte d’Auteuil, next to the garden.
The lovely Le Roland Garros ([email protected]) is category as cuisine inventive by Best Restaurants Paris by chef Xavier Rousseau and directeur Edouard Absire, all out door .. and only opens 7pm-10pm
