The three young men are lobbying fellow students, the faculty and staff to speak out against Dimon’s visit in order to get his invitation revoked, selecting ‘a speaker everyone will benefit from hearing’ instead.
And Columbia School of International and Public Affairs students in New York have started a Facebook campaign as part of their protest that Citi CEO Vikram Pandit is to give the keynote speech at their commencement. They say that Pandit should be addressing business school graduates, and not the likes of them.
One banker told Here Is The City: ‘It’s always these artsy and do-good students that scream the loudest, usually because they weren’t smart enough to realise until it was too late that they should have gone to business school. I doubt the likes of Dimon and Pandit will lose any sleep over their silly protests’.
