Americans live on credit. I can accept that. They thrive on it, I am fine with it too. But what I disapprove is the way people over spend and blame others, such as credit cards issuers, and media often portrait those consumers as the victims. Oh so naïve, felt into the traps. Where are discipline, responsibility and respectability? Do you have to be a genius to figures it out that if you don’t have that $500, you just don’t spend it? Current issue of Businessweek talked about this. Sure, I got hit by Capital One too (plus many others), blizzard style. The envelopes containing the applications just kept on coming. But they all end up in the recycle bin without opening. We all need to take responsibility for our action. There is only so much the government can do; they are not here to hold your hands.
