在中美两国当工人的感受

A very interesting read by a man who worked as factory worker both in China and USA. 阳和平简介:阳和平,是1947年就来到延安参加中国革命的美国专家寒春、阳早的长子。他生于中国,长于中国,他的名字“和平”就是宋庆龄给起的。1968年初中毕业后曾在北京光华木材厂当过五年工人,1974年去了美国,在美国继续当工人。八十年代开始半工半读上大学,直到博士学位后在美国几家大学任教数年,于2007年“海归”到北京的对外经济贸易大学任教至今。 2009年12月27日阳和平在中国工人研究网“老工人怀念毛主席”报告会上以“在中美两国当工人的不同感受”为题的发言。 我今天讲讲个人的经历。我是生在中国,长在中国;北京生西安长的,我也是西安人(用陕西方言)。今天就讲讲我在中国毛泽东时代当工人和以后在美国当工人的对比。为什么这个对比有意思呢?我想想,好多的中国工人是被“温水煮青蛙”了,等到他没有社会地位的时候,才发现已经太晚了。我是在中国毛泽东时代当工人当了五年,到美国马上就没有主人翁地位了(众笑)。这个感觉是非常明显的,简直是天壤之别。 我是1968年初中毕业的,分配到工厂,北京的光华木材厂,当时你要问我在中国当工人是什么感觉,我还真是没法说清楚。因为没有对比,感受不深,就像让鱼去描述水,它真是不知道除了水还有什么世界。在毛泽东时代当工人,他以为当工人就那么回事儿,我到美国去当工人才发现,还真是不一样。怎么不一样呢?一言难尽。你在美国、在资本家那里当工人,你怕老板。 八十年代中国有一种说法,叫“大锅饭,养懒汉!”可是我是到了美国以后才学会“偷懒”的(众笑)。在毛泽东时代,我们不会偷懒,为什么?为什么毛泽东时代的工人那么 “傻”?不是真的傻,我们其实很清楚,我们的劳动目的不是为资本家赚钱的。工人阶级其实有一个本能的勤劳、勇敢的特色。那些贪图享受,那些认为人不为己,天诛地灭的人,那种右派的资产阶级思想家,他们是以己度人的。真正的工人,他们对自己的劳动是有成就感的,有一种我创造出的东西,我对这个东西是有感情的。 我在光华木材厂当工人的时候,就是个普通工人,先是用热轧机制造塑料贴面板,以后调到胶合板车间。那时候吃饭在食堂,住在宿舍里,有学习。七十年代我们学马列,所以我这个根底儿是那时候打的。当时工人在一起吃住,在一块儿劳动。我到了美国去以后,老是想家,想的不光是我的父母,还想着光华的工人,梦里都想着他们。 到美国我先是在韩丁的农场干了一年,以后到费城附近的工厂打工,当过复印机修理工、商场计费器修理工,后来多次失业。 头一次失业,我以为是天塌下来了。在中国有生活保障,有安全感,没有经历过资本主义的考验,中国人到那儿去真不适应。一失业,我说:我做什么做得不好,你干吗不要我了,我做什么错事了,你凭什么把我给解雇了?(众笑)后来失业次数多了就油了,失业嘛就是逼着你放假罢了。 有一次失业的时候,在报纸上看到一家钢铁厂登广告招收电工,我就去应聘了。文化革命的时候我没事就鼓弄电,做马达什么的,我有一些电的知识。应聘的时候我就说自己是电工,他在美国也没有办法查。他就给我一个马达和一个启动器让我接起来,我接起来了,他就雇佣我了。 头一天上班,工头派活儿,工人们都在一块儿干活,我就把中国工人干活儿的劲头拿出来了,工头话还没有说完呢,我就把扳手拿起来干活去了。当时没人说什么,工头一出去,一个工人抓住我说:“你干什么呢?!”我说:“修马达啊!”他说:“你傻瓜呀,修好了你就失业了!”也是啊,所以我在美国才学会了,当工人必须会作秀:干得很欢,不出活儿,这才叫偷懒。(众笑、鼓掌) 毛泽东时代的工人真是不会偷懒,真不会偷懒儿。这不是说工厂里没有一个偷懒的,我们班里就有一个,大家叫他赖包,就是赖包儿。他是除了本份工作以外,什么也不帮别人的。其他的工人,我这边活儿干完了,你那边还忙,我去帮你一把,干完了我们一块儿休息一会儿。 那时候,毛泽东时代的工人,不怕干部到车间来的。你干部来,比如厂长来了,大家就会说:“哟,好长时间不见你了,你是不是脱离群众了?”对吧?你现在活干完了看报纸呢,那不是说厂长来了工人就害怕。因为活是一批一批的。我们做这个塑料贴面板,或者做胶合板,胶合好了然后放到热压器里热压,需要等五到十分钟时间,这时候厂长来,你该看报纸看报纸,该喝茶喝茶,该聊天聊天,他来不来无所谓的,他不能开除你,对吧?工人那时候不怕干部,倒是干部怕工人,怕工人贴大字报。(众笑) 我到美国当工人就完全不一样了,工头来了你必须是干活的,你不干活就要走人哪。管理人员掌握着你的工作权利,那是很大的权利。 所以你想想,在毛泽东时代,靠什么把工人的积极性调动起来?当官的、干部没有解雇你的权力,没有扣你工资的权力,那老百姓、工人为什么辛辛苦苦干活呢?凭的是什么?现在的人对这些觉得是不可思议的。 在资本主义社会当工人,要是工厂干部不在,那活儿马上就停下来了,对吧?(众笑、鼓掌)资本主义条件下是胡萝卜加大棒,一方面给你奖金,刺激你,不行就把你开除了,那是资本主义的生产关系。 但是,资本主义社会的工人也不是好欺负的,他们也在斗争中慢慢学会了对付资本家,学偷懒。学会对付资本家是挺有艺术的,我可以讲几个具体的例子,看看工人怎么对付资本家。最有效的是工人组织工会,不是黄色工会,是工人自己的工会,这是很主要的。但是平常干活时的小斗争也是不断的。 我在一个车辆厂工作了7、8年。有一次接到一笔订单,要制作上百辆车辆,就像地铁车辆那样。我那时候当电工,专门在车底下装那种很粗的电缆。头十辆车我们按照图纸学着怎么装这个电缆,学会了,从第十辆车开始,就要计时了。专门有一个人拿着个本子和秒表,盯着你的一举一动,把时间记下来,这是非常“科学”的呀!跟我一起干活的一个高个子黑人非常有经验,他对我说:“今天,平常你熟悉的今天我干,平常我熟悉的今天你干;平常你是左撇子,今天是右撇子,平常你是右撇子,今天是左撇子;平常用气动工具的,今天用手动工具。”(众笑、鼓掌) 这还不够,固定电缆的螺丝帽是带自动锁的,帽上有个塑料圈,所以你拧这个螺丝帽的时候,你必须固定螺丝,否则它会来回转,你转一辈子也拧不紧。平常这种螺丝只要十圈就能固定好的螺丝,今天想办法给它转二十圈。由于固定螺母有上下两个扳子,但你看得见上面看不到底下,上面的扳手不停地转,转二十转,下面扣螺母的扳手一会儿上来,一会儿下去,只让它扣住十次,必须保证每一个二十转,不能有一个是十五转,因为有一个十五转,工厂方面就按这个计算了,还不能露馅。 而且我们还得看上去是全身的投入到里边。那时候八月份天特别热,我们头上系着纸巾,否则汗都流到眼睛里边去了,穿的T恤衫湿透了,我们俩作秀,表演得非常好。然后经过好几天,活差不多干完了,他一统计,说是三十多小时,我们松了一口气。以后越干越熟,一年以后,我一个人五小时就能干完了,还报三十多个小时,为什么?那时候我半工半读上大学呢,我的数学微积分的作业全在厕所里边写的,所以腾不出时间我怎么办? 这个劳资关系,管理者和被管理者,如果相互间是敌对的,就像猫和老鼠似的,你有你的办法,人家有人家的办法,中国有句话,上有政策下有对策,工人有对策,当然最主要的对策还是通过工会——工人自己的组织,通过这样的办法,和资本家斗争。 到美国后我经常回中国来,每次回来都到工厂去一趟。1977年回来时因为想家,除了想父母,我还跑到光华木材厂当工人,一去就是几个月,重新体验过去当工人的感受(动情落泪)。这怎么回事啊?我怎么没有想到回到美国后重新到美国工厂体验,为什么会到中国老想着回到老工厂和老工人共同再生活一段时间?那时候当工人确实是一个同志间的关系;在美国当工人,工人之间有感情,但是跟这个公司没有感情,你所记忆的是老板怎么样监督你,老是一个敌对关系。 北京光华木材厂现在没了,我觉得特别可惜,当年在美国打工的工厂也破产没了,我也觉得可惜,但是对那种工作环境,我一点也不怀念。为什么我老怀念在光华当工人的生活呢?我经常去看他们,现在好多光华的工人还住在垂杨柳那块儿呢。这里,就是说当家作主的工人阶级和打工的工人就是不一样,我那时候在中国毛泽东时代当工人,是一个工作,现在当工人,是打工,打工和工作,性质完全不一样,一个是当家作主的,一个是被奴役的。(鼓掌) … Continue reading
