The match .. King Michael

Tonight’s 60 Minutes has a feel good interview: Anderson Cooper on Michael Phelps. They had a race in the pool: Cooper did free style while Phelps did dolphin kicks in one breathe. I don’t think any one would have a doubt as who won that race. Any way, I found Cooper to be pretty cool [...]

A troubled childhood?

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports, View from Bottom

Giants routed the Redskins 23:7.  The little Giants is 11:1 of the season with four more games to go before the playoff.  They played a very clean and crispy game without Plaxico Burress who shot himself in the leg.  I think he aimed at his foot but was too drunk and shot the leg; or better [...]

PsssssssAT

King’s PSAT test result has arrived. He did not study for it, only decided on the last minute to take it. Many kids took it. One of his buddies scored in the 96 percentile and was disappointed.
“Did you prepare for it?” I asked.
“Oh ya. I took the practice test every week.”
“Satisfied with the result?”
“Not really. [...]

Shopping Guernica

Wal-Mart door greeter dies on Friday. How crazy can the Americans be? It’s embarrassing. First of all, getting up at 3am to wait on line for some deals or sales are stupid enough. Now some one dies in this ‘tradition’. Why would anyone want to join the shopping stampede?

Books ..

How to Publish Without Perishing .. that “Go back to an old-fashioned idea: that a book, printed in ink on durable paper, acid-free for longevity, is a thing of beauty. Make it as well as you can. People want to cherish it.”
It’s true. Everything in the US is about .. that mega allure [...]

China: A new hope or a threat to the world?

NY Salon held China forum at Barnes and Noble the other night featuring five rather well-spoken Caucasians: a moderator and four panelists .. .. where’s Chinese?
Brooke Gladstone said that China wants to clean up the corruption, as long as the fallen hero isn’t connected to the Central, he will be taken out and down.
Charles W. [...]

Woman skills

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports, View from Bottom

It’s a Friday night and I need excitement .. sooo .. I took this quiz: Average woman on dating. I only got 8 right out of 15. Not bad. But the site told me that my “Average Woman skills are just average. The good news is you’re normal – when it comes to reading the [...]

One party rules

Can cleantech China teach the West how to be green? There is an advantage of one party. China is for one. China has it nosense and so does USA. Look how quickly China came out with its bail-out package.
US is a great country, don’t take me wrong. And its lofty desire to see democracy around [...]

Joshua Bell plays Beethoven

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Not very long ago Golfer introduced me to Beethoven’s violin’s concerto. I instantly, I meant it .. pronto fall in love with it. Doesn’t it move you??? It has since become my most favored piece, up there with Tchaikovsky’s. I love violin concertos above all else and listen to them day in day out.

Stop it Denmark: what a shame !!

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

While it may seem incredible, even today this custom continues, in Dantesque, – in the Faroe Islands, ( Denmark ) . A country supposedly ‘civilized’ and an EU country at that. For many people this attack to life is unknown– a custom to ’show’ entering adulthood. It is absolutely atrocious. No one does anything to [...]

Whom should you call when you need TLC or wanting to be entertained?
Where to place the call when you need a ride?
What to do when you need your little leg (or brain in that matter) to be looked at? Not broken, just thought it’s a good idea to have someone to look at.
Da Police.
