So it’s life

A little note posted at my children school:
We cannot have everything
~
Things don’t always go our way
~
There is injustice in life
~
Some people will never understand
~
We can’t please everyone

Suor Angelica

Published by The Kibbitzer under Saga, View from Bottom

This year’s opera production was Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi. I was grateful that school had chosen this one because I probably won’t go to Met for a Puccini – his just aren’t as spectacular and beautiful as Mozart’s – the last four productions, two were by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the other one was [...]

It’s the pediatrician’s turn

Word of the day: Tympanometry .. acoustic reflex testing
Although I think medical doctors deserve getting paid and felt the health insurers have hacked too deeply into doctors’ pockets but I’m increasingly leaning toward the middlemen in bill disputing.
This time it’s the pediatrician.

A trick

Published by The Kibbitzer under Saga, Sports, View from Bottom

Pumpkin delivered a serve that’s 3 inches out. Bev returned it. Pumpkin didn’t know if to continue or stop. [...]

Drugs .. and .. kids

This subject sure will get my attention:
A bag of heroin can sell for $5 to $25 and induce a six- to eight-hour high, according to officials and former users. Cocaine, by comparison, can cost $40 to $60 for a 30-minute high, while prescription painkillers like Vicodin or OxyContin sell for upward of $40 a pill [...]

How can you tell you’re old ..

Ran into a friend last weekend at a BBQ, the hat lady. Her hubby loves to collect antique furniture and earrings; he brought her this hat too. It must sound like cliché when I say you don’t feel old till seeing your kids. We first met more than a decade ago when the Pokemon was [...]

The Spring Concert II

I missed King’s concert last Wednesday, the Spring Concert I. There is III next Wednesday.
Our school’s music program has mushroomed over the years, very quickly. The director, Michael Schwartz mentioned that when he joined the school in 1992:  there were only 42 students. Just this II concert (on 5/27) had over 150 students.
