Ben Stein the saver
Benny is a lawyer, writer, actor and economist, and pretty funny. But do people really take him seriously? Every time I see some one with a long running titles, I pause.
His young make up artist has no savings.
“What if they don’t have any savings?” she [the make up artist] asked [Benny]. “I don’t have any savings,” she said. “No one I know except you has any savings.” She looked extremely worried.
No worry darling. The Fed government will bail you out. If one person has no savings, he or she wil starve. But if the entire nation has no savings, the government will have to step in to feed them. Just like the sub prime loads. Can’t make the mortgage payment? No worry, Uncle Sam will pay for it or force the bank to renegotiate the loan term. Beautiful. The spenders are always live better than savers.
