Flushing is on the map ..
Flushing has been a magnet shopping/dinning place for Chinese (and Koreans) for a long time. It’s evolved so much from few decades ago when Golfer and his parents lived there, was like a ghost town, my mother-in-law would joke. Now, getting a parking space is a major accomplishment. Small part of the area is trying to go upscale, with a Rose Tea Garden .. by the municipal parking lot. The pictures n videos that pop up on the map are pretty neat. So 水煮鱼 is Fish in spicy soup base? It looks so so so yummmmy. John, come on over, let’s go! It’s only morning, I’m already thinking about food, what a 饭桶 !
Last week we went to Wuliangye by the Rockefeller Center. I meant to order the 水煮牛, but lord knew what I said, the waiter bought a plate of fish. Golfer isn’t big on fish. But surprisingly he loved it. - I’m not a big complainer. Tend to take whatever casually. Once we went to Masa at Time Warner. Sat next to us was a young couple in dating stage. They were often struggled to find things to say to each other. They ordered the same dessert. When it came, we were about to leave. I tried to help the guy out by telling them, “how come you have extra pink .. but not the green on the bottom?” The guy promptly sent it back to the kitchen for the green. Hey, I didn’t mean it that way..
