I disagree.

America although has it faults, but it is the best country there is, especially for an Asian immigrant. But that doesn't give America the right to measure others in their own mirror. McDonald's are doing very well in a land that covets rice, but it doesn't mean the American or western governing will work there too.

Those kids are very well informed. Tang Jie who did the short video reads English and German easily, aside from Chinese.

Tibet .. I just know no one cared about that far away land .. until China became to be reckoned with, then all hell broke out .. Super power as celebrity, attracts scrutiny (if you ever traveled out side of the US, you should know how much sneer the Americans are getting everywhere, especially in Europe.) Apparently, Grandpa Wen is no match to the rock star in orange rope. But Wen pays the bill while Rocker hasn't built a school, nor a road in the land he professes to love and care.

If you think economical achievement isn’t important enough, then what else?

Amazing...what a propoganda job as per usual from the People's Republic. I am a student (amateur) of The Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution. Defending the dictatorship of China is absolutely ridiculous.

No, I am not offering America as the alternative or as a comparison. This democracy talk is smoke and mirrors to hide the true state of the Chinese nation. It is one of subjugation, control, extreme classism and exploitation.

If you think the leadersip is very different from the leaders in the 60's 70's and 80's you are mistaken. Economically? Yes. Deng knew there was no way to continue after the disastor of the CR unless the people got some piece of the pie or the ruling elite's control would erode.

It is difficult for many Westerners who have not educated themselves about China to fawn over this controversy of Tibet. Of course the Chinese are occupying the country. The people at Anti-CNN who say they have just been trying to civilize the nation or that Tibet is really a part of China are just once again spouting Party thought. It was the same when The Japanese said that Manchuria was really not part of modern China ergo it was fine to occupy and use the puupet Emporer.

I am doing my best to bring to light the nature of this government since '49. The brilliance of the Party is keeping its own people in the dark. Most Chinese have no idea of the devastation of the famines from the GLF or why they ocurred...of course according to the Party it was natural disasters.

Sorry...I just get absolutely steamed about this nationalist talk of these entiltled Chinese young people who don't even have a grasp on their own Party history...
