The hero of the middle age

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports

Dara Torres, 41 years old, mother of a toddler, is trying to make it to Beijing as a swimmer.  Some story! Addition to Susan Rapp.
It’s very interesting to know - I’ve thought otherwise - short course suits aging swimmers better than distance.
No among of money could propelle her to where she is, if weren’t for her passion [...]

Uma’s Dad Robert Thurman

Uma Thurman’s Dad is a professor of Buddhist studies at Columbia University and the first American to be ordained as a Tibetan monk. He claimed that Dalai Lama used to come to his house in the old days in Manhattan. He said “No Chinese people lived in Tibet before 1950. Zero.”, and Hu Jintao keeps [...]

The little white dress

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports

The left is the little Zheng Jie (5′5″) from Sichuan who upset Ana Ivanovic, 6:1 and 6:4. Yuan Meng exited in the first round, won the first set at 7:6 (9:7), but then lost 6:3 and 6:0. How far can Zheng go?
It’s so much fun to watch it with Pumpkin! Oh heaven.. she’s quite a [...]

The Last Mistress

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Why people generally look down on the prositute but not political whoring?  I knew this was coming - Mama Hillary kissing up to Obama, but still have hard time to stand it.  Thought about this movie ..

My young gf

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Girl in love - they make a cute couple.  Love her skirt too, very feminine, and girlie.
I met her b/f at the dinner the other day for the first time.  Instantly liked him: he’s very decent, period. I told her so. Thinking that Lucy would often remind me not to 欺负 ‘bully’ Golfer, she said, [...]

The New York Bureaucrat at work

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

I went to swim on Tuesday 6/24, found myself on the receiving line of the out cast: you need to have a bathing cap and lock. Cap is a must for me, so no problem. But I never use a lock, so I wasn’t allowed to go in. I was on the tight time schedule (am I [...]

The Asian Century

Published by The Kibbitzer under Current Affairs

Ok, I heard it for a while, and I’m glad. The Europeans dominated the 19th and the Americans carried the 20th. Now we Asians may finally get to have a little fun. And might the 22nd Century belong to the Africans or the Muslims?  A little sincerely advise: pls don’t over do it.  The other day I chatted [...]

Handicapped ..

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports, View from Bottom

Don’t I deserve the Picture of the Year award?  A tiny little leave landed on the court with a rain drop.  Taken on 2008-06-21, 9am.   My partner and opponents all rolled their eyes, thinking what a crazy woman they’re playing with.  Sorriii people.  A man (opppps .. .. a woman) has to do what s/he’s got to [...]

Shopping

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Waiting on Pumpkin and her friend shopping. So I shopped myself too - with a skirt in mind.  But didn’t see what I like except this dress, by the model for the handbag.  Fortunately,  I went in to ask, and yes they have this little cashmere dress, but sorry they don’t have it any more.  The salesgirl with [...]

Seven Seas no more?

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Who’s going to clean up the earth?  Discover magazine July issue screamed What’s Happening to our Oceans, about Eastern Garbage Patch that lies between Big Island of Hawaii and California.  Only lord knows why people littler.
I found it’s hard to mind the people you know who’s doing the dirty deed.  Like my tennis buddies, after opening can [...]

The malpractice

What a shame that US health system and its doctors move ever slowly into the electronic age. I’m still seeing those silly medical careers ads such as billing agent. Give me a break!  The American doctors are reluctant to purchase a system they fear might soon be obsolete.  I sympathize with it.  There are too many ’systems’ to [...]

Is she mad?

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Christie Brinkley’s divorcing her fourth husband who cheat with his 18-year old assistant and surf porn sites.  They have two kids 12 and 9. She wants to make the trial public. What’s that for? To be humiliated once more in public? Are American women mad or crazy? The best way to deal with it, is to [...]

Fiat’s controversial Gere ad to keep running

Ahha there he is. I’ve been wondering all those time where is Richard Gere. He’s one of the earliest Dalai Lama celeb followers, if not the first. Sharon got stoned for her comment and Dior pulled her ad immediately in China. Hmmmmm…  The 45 seconds commercial is nicely made, and he looks gorgeous - why [...]

My learning time. Johnson & Johnson makes the Acuvue. But there are many outlets selling it, price varies per box that contains 6 lens. So I called up the first off the google. 800-Contacts sells $42.99 per box or $303.92 for 8 boxes (after mail-in rebate). When I called, the price dropped to $218.33 for 8 [...]

Love thy neighbors

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

It’s kind of sad, you go to that extra miles to meet your friends where you hardly know the people who live next door to you.  I guess there is a compatibility issue that neighbors don’t socialize more?  Hey people, how about we’ll start monthly or bi-monthly pot luck dinner?  Call me to set it [...]
