Carpe diem?

The gasoline at the pump hits over $4 per gallon, the oil is at $126, gold at $905, weak housing market result in Lowes and Home Depot (has HD had a winning quarter lately?) in the red .. Not many encouraging news in the air.  Sounds like crunching time.  Really?  But our pool is undergoing a complete renovation, adding slides, spray like Water Cannon, Tea Cup, .. our town’s new pool will be open this July with lazy river .. .. Sounds like we’re still in the gilded age.  We don’t even have to jet down to Florida any more, all by our doorsteps.  Not just new pools, libraries as well.  Two towns next to us had new libraries, guess we want or need one too, keeping up with the Jones, if not Gateses.  Our library budget is $8,136,400, (0.4% drop from 2007, serving about 40,000) of which $4,5m goes to salary and $1,6m goes to benefits .. ..  All great, not to worry. enjoy. seize the day.
