PowerSchool, ParentLink, ParentConnect ..
Our school’s web provides many info that used to reach us va snail mails or phone calls, now in a timely manner. Sounds great, but do we parents need to know all of those, and have they implemented those in a timely manner?
Many years ago, I was more involved with school and the community, joined few committees. One of which was technology at school that chaired by someone who I dabbed as Chaser, because he justified all his decisions based on which other school district had done so. “XX school has wired it entire school .. so we’re going to do it too .. School YY has done this .. so we’re doing it too .. “ Sitting around the conference table listening to his talk, made me wonder why our school had gone down hill since Golfer’s days. You lead, you don’t follow. Why did the Chaser have to justify everything they do by following other’s example? Does America lost it drive by following others, too complacent, too afraid to innovate?
The Chaser is still there.
