Luray

Published by The Kibbitzer at 3:38 pm under Going Places

Virginia is full of hams, holes and battle fields.  Luray cavern is the second one we’ve visited over the years.  Pretty cool if you haven’t.  This one is far better than the Endless in the area.  The almost deadly calm reflecting pool there is the most memorable.  Look closer at the picture you can see the ripple at the center caused by the drop from the ceiling.  On the way out, I spotted the live plant.  It reminded me of the scary blacken fish at the American Museum of Natural History in the city: they live at the bottom of the deep ocean (400 ft below or so) where no light exist, hence they are totally black and blind. We’re all adaptive to the nature.
