The Constant Gardener
Miguel’s my current gardener for over three years, the fourth. He’s referred to me by Lee. Stocky, kind and with a warm smile. The first time we met, after he quoted me the price, I asked why it’s more expensive than Lee’s. He replied, “she’s my girl friend. . ..” Ok, M, let’s keep it business, :).
My first gardener was an artist from Argentine. He was referred to me by my neighbor, a very nice man. After few years, his knees began to give in, so he had to sell his business. The purchaser wasn’t to my taste, so we stick around for little more than a year, then defected to Mike who worked in the area. There isn’t anything wrong with Mike, just he’s way too serious. So one day when Lee talked about her gardener of more than a decade with obvious affection, I asked for referral. .. thanks Lee.
He seemed wise beyond his age, 
that he didn’t ask me to change my grass. It changed three times and pretty much ended up the same, struggleing, dying. I need more sunlight!
