Why did it take so long
In seeking greater profits, Beijing is losing its influence over state owned companies, such as CNPC that has invested heavily in Sudan, a sensible view by a Beijing correspondent. I’m wondering, how many articles (with the same point of view) he’s written prior to this one that didn’t get published? Or he suddenly came to realization of such dilemma China is facing? Haven’t we seen enough of such conflicts everywhere, like DEA pursuing drug lords in Mexico only to be told to come home, drop the case by their president, because that would jeopardize the US banks investments or loans there.
