Charlie’s Angels

Published by The Kibbitzer under Trading

It’s Charlie’s idea to have it in the city.  The prior meetings had been in my town, for I definitely not willing to make a trip when no one would show up.  I’ve met him couple of times, so the city it was.  How great it was!  And he got all the girls, in all kinds of living color [...]

Strong showing @ Woodie’s

We had our club meeting yesterday with largest showing ever, 8 of us (two more girls!!!), needed time out to get a chance to speak, great rapport and enthusiasm.  San Diego Chapter’s Josey Wales’s record was 26.  I might have to enlist my fellows from China to beat that number,
Megan is cool, a fast talker and [...]

The other day my kids sat me down for an emergemcy meeting.  King told me that I have touch of death, and Pumpkin wondered out loud why would shop still sell to me.  Eeerrrrrrhhh my supportive family.  I used them as an example, saying you know, you guys are pretty [...]

Obama blames Clinton era for crisis

Published by The Kibbitzer under Current Affairs, Finances

FT .. Barack Obama yesterday laid much of the blame for America’s unfolding credit crisis on the financial deregulation of the 1990s in his hardest-hitting attack so far on the economic legacy of Bill Clinton’s administration. ..
Not Reagan?  Wow .. the real punches are out now.  Why did it take so long?  Still remember when [...]

Mao’s poised swan

Published by The Kibbitzer under Celestial Empire

Lou sent this Swan Lake and wondered how can she keep her balance on her toe on the head of the male dancer? Really amazing.  She’s graceful with really nice figure and endless pretty long legs.  The gu lei is handsome too.  Wondering what Tchaikovsky would think of it when he sees the froggies - you’ll have to wait out the [...]

Shame on China?

Tibet took the headline again.  CNN’s video showing monks and plain cloth chanted, something made in China and then shame on China in English that remind me of Putin’s comment on Kasparov, asking why did the chess champ when arrested, speak out in English rather than Russian?  Putin said when a politician works the crowd of other nations rather than the [...]

Ode to Kam San 金山

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

First time walked into Kam San, I was pleased: it had meicai 梅菜, dried salted veg that I like to cook with pork.  It was 22 years ago.  I just arrived from Hong Kong where food was stringently segregated.  Cantonese, the Hong Kong Cantonese are very particular about their food.  Any place [on the map] above Shanghai are considered [...]

Tennis elbow

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports

I wasn’t bragging when I said tennis elbow never glanced at my direction.  Perhaps too much tennis at Hilton Head, I felt sharp pain on my right elbow when I served.  It’s a new sensation, and didn’t go away.  Now three months after, although I played from time to time, but ony with backhand.  I googled tennis [...]

The six goodies

國際會議上定出了6種保健品
第一       綠茶;
第二       紅葡萄酒;
第三       豆漿;
第四       酸奶;人家不提牛奶,您注意啦;
第五       骨頭湯;

The party line

We were taught that 没有共产党就没有新中国.  Look over the Taiwan Strait, it is  没有国民党就没有新台湾.  :)  Thank god we won’t be seeing Chen much longer.  Behind the exuberance of Ma’s election, stands the belief that the KMT would forge a closer economic relationship with China, giving the island its rightful share of the benefits of China’s growth.  So they [...]

From kid glove to white glove

The luxury makers are expanding in Asia, Chindia in particular. “I think the fashion world is beginning to realise that Asian customers are getting more sophisticated by the day,” says Mr Jenden.  “Yes, there are cultural differences. Europeans don’t pick their teeth. But it’s very important not to be jaded or patronising when in Asia.”
So the lux [...]

A Georgia peach

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Larry Flynt’s Hustler by the Hudson employees fairly good looking girls.  Most of them are from Eastern Europe.  Some of them are lively, out going, playful; and some looked like they’d rather be somewhere else.  It isn’t a glamour profession, but if that’s the only thing you could do, you should put on a brave face, [...]
