Handyman
There are lot of things I don’t know and can’t fingue it out. But I long view myself a handyman, so I have no problem taking thing down.. … hack, if I have a third arm or right knife, I would have nicked my right arm off already by now. Look at those bathroom radiator covers, I never thought its a major operation. But sadly, it is. I took it down, half way, did I realize it’s not a kid play job. Mr. Wong came to the rescue, and said those covers are for new construction, not replacements. I said to no one in particular: “how come?” .. It rusts in less than 10 years! Why don’t they make the coating that resist the rust, make it last longer? I’m sure the technology allows them to do so. Mr. Wong said, “well, the stainless steel sure will last long .. but the workers would be out of job ..” How about charge the premium, say we’re paying $30 now vs $200 for a stainless steel cover? He said it’s not going to happen. The factory needs to churn out products to keep it humming. I’ve heard similar accusation, that the pets spray, like for roaches, doesn’t really work like the one in HK .. so you keep on buying it .. Same with the oil thing? $100 a barrel is a lot, but the oil industry just too powerful and too heavily vested they’re not going to let it go. So we’re kissing the middle east.
