What money can buy ..
Money can buy a lot of things we need or don’t need. Now after (are we over it yet?) the sub-prime roller-coaster, US is going around the world - mainly in the oil countries - begging for money, 10b here, 20b there. And the retirees like Sandy Weill might have to come out to work .. The oil money speaks loud, as usual. Crassy, gaudy “a gigantic necklace made of gold, diamonds, rubies and emeralds, so gaudy and cumbersome that even the Secret Service agent carrying it seemed nonplussed. Here in Saudi Arabia, the king draped W. with an emerald-and-ruby necklace that could have come from Ali Baba’s cave.” :)) Does American new money smell better than the newer petro$? .. Money can certainly buy you a house, but not home; new cloth but not style .. Style .. hmmmm .. can’t the parvenus buy image consultants to make them fashionable?
