Chinese fans revel in Dream Theater
BEIJING, Jan. 23 — American heavy metal band Dream Theater brought
their progressive sound to China in an energetic show in Beijing on
Tuesday.
In front of a delirious, packed audience, Dream Theater packed their longstanding classics, as well as new hits from their latest album,
“Systematic Chaos,” into a dense, two-hour show.
Several leading Chinese rock musicians, including Cui Jian, were among the audience.
Local critics were quoted in media reports using words like “astonishing,” “comprehensive,” “infectious,” and “perfect.”
Formed in 1985, Dream Theater is critically acclaimed for its
instrumental proficiency... .. Of course, it has Jordan Rudess, the prodigious Juilliard graduate. When will they be recognized by their fellow countrymen, bestow the fame they enjoy overseas, now include China… I was dragged to see them once at Beacon Theater, sat among the smokers - I much prefer the pot then cigarette, 
somewhat I enjoyed, same degree as with Yes and Rush - it wasn’t my music. Marrying Golfer has it prices. I kept telling him .. wait till I get my green card .. .. :)) ..
