China’s Spiritual Awakening

Published by The Kibbitzer at 3:18 pm under Celestial Empire

Isn’t it so predictable?!  Bizwk asks “Why a growing number of successful urban professionals are flocking to Buddhism“? Well, short answer is money can’t buy happiness ‘inside’ in ways that it can buy toys.  But, religions, like music/art/dessert are all depend on money.  Doesn’t it?  I dont think it’s spiritual awakening, just they finally and actually can afford, allowed or have the mean to contemplate?

In many ways, the Chinese (like Russians) are just climbing down from the trees, after long decades of communist ruling, that repalced literature/art/religion with its own policitcal proprogandas and reduce the living standard to the barest, annihilated its people’s decency.. ..  I just don’t see some one who has to work 18hr day and find time to devote to other things in life.  “Monks hoping to maximize profits are even attending MBA programs that offer temple-management classes.:) ha ha ha .. even the monks are trying to capitalize.
