Reminiscence?

Does this posture remind you of red guard gone mad moment in the 60s during that ten crazy years?  The blizzard is blamed on La Nina, opposite of El Nino.  The officials are softening up, ventured into the crowds, reporting death ..  Good leap forward.  Or it’s just Wen Jiabao himself?  I heard that he doesn’t want to be the [...]

Eddy and Rudy ..

Published by The Kibbitzer under Current Affairs

They are bowing out of the race.  I never thought they stood any chance.  I like Giuliani was mayor, but his third wife is hard to swallow.  Her unflattering media coverage - 小人得志 - is certainly a liability to his run.  Rudy needs to fix his third wife and Eddy needs to fix his swirling tongue.

The entitlement

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports, View from Bottom

One’s entitlement often seems inequality to others.  Our badminton group has been playing together for years on this one court, relatively harmonic, even with players come and go.  There are no rules to govern but a sense of fair play.  Before Michael, there was a Mr. Huang who’s responsible to open/close the door and set up the net, etc.  [...]

Global MBA rankings

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

MBAs are no longer American monopoly.  Even Vladimir got into the game, signing the foundation stone of Skolkovo Biz School in Moscow.  Remembered when Bush was running, MBAs cried out loud, “give us a break ..”  They got one.

This year’s ranking has one of Chinas at 11th, ahead NYU Stern (13th) and Yale (16th), Uni of Oxford [...]

Taike

Published by The Kibbitzer under Celestial Empire

Taiwan, in some people eyes are forging a new identity after long years in the shadow of China.  I thought the moment had long passed, IF it didn’t find its identity when fathers were beaten up by their sons in China, and innocent people were prosecuted for stating truth that didn’t fit emperor Mao’s taste.  It is just sound silly that Taiwan is seeking [...]

The range bar trading

Published by The Kibbitzer under Trade of the day, Trading

Woodie has abandon his 5-minute time bar in favor of his new method, range bar based on price trading, Charlie explained.  The timer is gone, in place is the data box.  The new bar would print only after certain movement in that market.  The bar print could be as short a second or as long as, well, [...]

There are lot of things I don’t know and can’t fingue it out.  But I long view myself a handyman, so I have no problem taking thing down.. … hack, if I have a third arm or right knife, I would have nicked my right arm off already by now.   Look at those bathroom radiator covers, I [...]

18 and 38

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

I had few minutes to kill, waiting for my mother-in-law who’s with her cardiologist.  So I actually have time to see the difference between a deflected bag (left, red) vs air tight on the right.  Just as I was inspecting, a lady walked over, and asked me why one is soft and one is till hard.  Before [...]

The forbidden fruit

Cleaning up, found this recalled Vioxx.  It’s given by a dr who’s treating my painful right knee: got twisted while skiing.  This elaborated package contains only a single pill.  I didn’t take any, not that I have foresight, but I just feel I should avoid taking drugs, at any cost.  Having a headache or fever?  Head to the [...]

Before I left Beijing for HK, Auntie Jennie and treated me at Moscow Restaurant.  Xiao Yi treated me there when we reunited.  Very few items were available, and fewer items were appetizing.  Out of nostalgia and nowhere else to go, we went there anyway.  As the years went on from it first opened its [...]

Tongzhi

Or comrade - the venerated communist term - now gay man using it when refers to each other in Beijing, Yizang told me few years ago.  Time picks it up now.  Well, time has changed, very fast.  Yizang was led out of the closet by his American b/f in the 80s, which was common: the Asian gay men were liberated [...]

It’s about time

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports

Joke Djokovic played an amazing (sorry for having limited vocabulary) match,  dumped Roger Federer.  It’s about time that Fed miss the final - stay home on Sundays.  Pete Sampras’ 14-slam record is still threatened.  Fed looks uninspired, maybe he is feeling bored?   :))
