Where are the loud Asians?
Not that we don’t speak up, but the major media company don’t really want to hire the real ones. They are afraid that no one want to listen to the truth which might need a lot of education or explanation. They go for those China hands who might speak the language but know little about Asia deep down. If Time can sell their weeklies without getting the stories right, why would they want to change a thing? Their average readers don’t know anything about Asia, so anything Time prints, it’ll be read up and holding it as the truth. I’m pretty sick of it, same goes with the mid east .. .. Well, perhaps China has just arrived. Give it a decade or two, I’m sure the media/politicians have to get it right and more than lip service, if they want to survive.
People often think that American women enjoy the most equal right. I disagree. I think Chinese women enjoy more. Mao said that women carry half the sky. And he meant it. Yes, we take husbands having mistress(es)/concubine(s) in stride, but this is the culture that DNAed into our blood stream - I see this as a relationship between two people rather than inequality of women - relationships between the long term partners/spouses and the other woman or women. Is there any woman more public humiliated than Hillary, the quintessential American woman, who might have a shot at living in the White House .. but still she’s late to the party, way behind Margaret and Angela .. Now she might not even get to pass nomination stage, so does that mean I don’t have to worry about taking a second job, like flipping burgers to make end meets to buy a place to live? Horrrraaaaaiiii!!!
