Globish
I’ve been speaking/writing the pidgin English all my life, feeling embarrassed. .. .. Well, good news is that I’m not alone. The bad news is that I don’t think I could get any better, despite the effort by Golfer and my kids. They all have given up hope .. you just can’t teach the old dog new tricks, :). Apparently there are tremendesous amount of people speak globish, “one in four of the world’s population able to communicate in English ..” Language evolves, so does English, and since it’s the pre-eminent tongue and the symbol of prosperity, it’s being localized all over, like in HK, Singapore, etc. 波士-boss, 士多-store .. Some can be very cute and vivid. What’s more, non native English speakers communicated better with other nons: ‘one Finnish manager blurted out: “The British are the worst . . . It is much more difficult to understand their English than that of other nationalities. When we non-native speakers of English talk, it is much easier to understand. We have the same limited vocabulary.”‘ No wonder no one understands me in the US, not Golfer nor my kids, :)…
