Whitemen’s world
During lunch today I saw part of FOX program, talking about a beach house inferno when 7 college kids perished. It seems death means so much in the US, because the entire story has nothing to offer except the death. Again, I’d expected the program tell us how the fire started? No, there’s no clue, wasn’t mentioned. I feel sorry for the parents. But why do I want to know those 7 average Joes and Janes’s death? I’m sure those kids were precious and dear to their families and friends. “He likes to hang out with his friends and drink, party .. is the happiest kid you’d like to have around ..” That’s it? Varsity captain, volunteer at hospital, school newspaper editor, Intel award, published a book, build a shelter in Africa, debate team, concert master .. ..??? IMHO, this kid or those kids accomplished nothing to deserve a mention anywhere except among their families and friends. I asked the restaurant to change the channel. A black couple sat next to us, one of them said, “because they’re white, blond and handsome/pretty .. we live in their world..” Did I detect the resigned anger? I’ll hate to admit his point of view. How low can the TV go? .. The world is ruled by the white men, the black men have the affirmative action to get easy start, so what about the medium color skinned people, like Chinese? They did build the railroad back then, and were forbid to bring their wives into this country .. just wondering.
Once a liberal friend teased me, “not that conservative is stupid, the point is the most conservatives are stupid.” Ok, the point is well taken … I was told that my blog sounds very conservative too.
