Its about Time
Time’s newest take on China, remotely has it right this time: that Chinese don’t really care for democracy - who wants to get dirt and messy with politics when spa and bar offer better entertainment? Guess I just answered my own question, :). As I’ve been saying, all Chinese want is rice, preferably in a gold or diamond encrusted bowl and eat it in peace. They don’t expect their emperor to be Einstein, just some able body they can look up to symbolically and who in return gives them peace and rice. Democracy? What’s democracy? And who needs it? Freedom? We have plenty. Really, doesn’t the West know to price in the cultural differences? Freedom to you might sound like meddling in other’s affair. As with Africa, if you don’t know the region, how could you set a right policy? Human right? Think England a century ago, child labor was rampant; the slavery in the US, just some examples. Those countries done their growing up earlier, shouldn’t others enjoy the same privilege - time to mature? When they needed it and can actually afford it, they will embrace it.
