Diplomatic baggage
Due to security reasons, US gov is selling off their real estate holdings - ambassadorial residences that is - around the world. Consolidating for better protection. What a shame. Every city I visited, US embassy or consulate was always housed in the most beautiful building, be it in Paris, Cario or Salzburg, reckon that Uncle Sam can afford, out spending other nations. (Not sure if the gov can just go and buy a property and designated it as their embassy/consulate, since reciprocate is involved.) Simply wonderful. Now, will the gorgeous embassy or consulate be barricade? Or 72 families living in the same house? JK .. but it’s has become boring, I’m sure it’s for the staff as well.
