New tea
The modern day teas are, well, very modern. I’m perhaps one of the very handful Chinese that buys tea for self consuming. Once I ran into a co-work at the grocery store and he was pretty amused that I actually buy tea. “Pls don’t buy, I’ll bring you some tomorrow.” He did. Apparently for the families that have thicker connection with either China or Taiwan, they have more than enough teas as gifts from home. Before Chinese school era, I didn’t have many Chinese friends. So I had to buy tea. Still remember Tin Ren had one particular tea selling $215 a pound, compare to other averaged at about $15 or so. Many are even cheaper. Now I get more teas as gift that can last at least another 3 years.
