In Beijing lingo, we call someone with short temper as little hot pepper 小辣椒.  It’s more or less refers to 朝天椒, out of numerous different chili peppers.  I’m not an expert of chili pepper other than I like to eat, but 朝天椒 is one of the spicy ones, if not the spiciest.  I have always wanted to have one in the kitchen, as decoration.  One day we went to a street fair in the city, good few years ago, at one of the SE Asian food booth, they had one, as decor.  I sweet talked them into selling me that one.  But it died soon after.  Lee gave me one, also died soon after.  The other day, Sandy said it’s too late in season to plant, wait till next year.  Wait?  Ya right, wait is my middle name, :).  I found this one in the supermarket, and couldn’t wait to lug it home.  Today, Golfer re-potted it: according to the sticker, it’s an out door plant (I sure read all the time!).  He said rarely a plant survives in a pot.  So, he diversified: 2 in pots and 1 in the ground.  We shall see.
