Giants

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports

Eli Manning had a great game yesterday, but Giants still lost.  We all miss the charming Tiki, who speaks well.  One day last week, I heard Billie Jean King was commentating at the Open, thank god the network didn’t offer her a regular job.  It’s terrible.

What luxury means now

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Nowadays, a mere brand name product doesn’t represent luxury any more.  It’s the package deal, the experience that takes Luxury to a new level.  Hong Kong in the 80s, still embracing the old business model that luxury spiral upward, scarce and expensive.  Never knew what an outlet was till I settled in the USA, where everyone’s polo has the [...]

Everything is negotiable

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

One of the MBAs FT profiled said that “At the end of the day, almost everything is negotiable, especially for entrepreneurs.”  Lucky him, realizing this early on.  I used to see the world only in two colors, black and white.  The older I get, the more gradation of shades I could pick out in between, which makes my life far more [...]

The Italian trios 三毛流浪记

Published by The Kibbitzer under Horticulture

I got it on 8/31, 10 days later, this is what I achieved: a 3/4 quarter bald, completely bald and 3-hair bald .. hence the 三毛流浪记 :).  Isn’t bald beautiful?  IMHO it is, but … but pls not on my plant!  How about a full head of hair of basil, chives and oregano?  Chiapet??

Location, location, location

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

If you think NYC has the heaviest fines for traffic violations, think again.  My inspection sticker expired, even I pen it in my calendar with reminder.  I got stopped at the service ramp leading to LIE at East Hills.  While waiting for the cop to write up the ticket, I thought to myself, no biggie, [...]

A suggestion ..

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

I have a suggestion for auto designers: would it be too much trouble for you to put a little symbol on the steering wheel indicating which side of the fuel tank is on that car?  My brain can only hold so much info and this isn’t one of them that I consider worth of keeping, [...]

Baby gu lei ..

Published by The Kibbitzer under Saga

咕喱 ‘gu lei’ is Cantonese, meaning 苦力 labor w/ a huge load on their back, a term that I found cute - or I think it’s cute …  Look at the things a kid have to bring to school.  “Do you want me to walk you to the bus stop?”  Ya right, she gave me a look, ‘Mom, [...]

Traders helping traders

Published by The Kibbitzer under Trading

This is Woodie’s motto.  As the market is crawling at the moment, Woodie told us a story: Nicker needs some help, other than trading.  Donna from the room spent a week at her farm helping out.  3 brothers from the room too, drove 2.5 hours to help her hubby putting up a fence.  Few days ago, she [...]
