LT

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports

Giants is leading 7:0 at half time.  LT is there!!  Wow .. he still pretty much looks the same.  It’s been long time, then was all about LT .. and the Eagles had Randall Cunningham, big deal that he could run.

Fortunoff

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Neat and cool?  But the quality is poor: damaged right out of the box.  Where is Fortunoff’s quality control?  It’s waste of my time to have to deal with it!  I called .. haven’t received a call back yet.

Is this an art?

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

I’m sure it is to some people.  This piece of work is on plastic, asking 15,000 Euro in the up coming Frieze Art  Fair in London.  横看竖看看不出所以然来 Call me frog in a well.  How about Yoko Uno’s Yes at MoMA?

Pixie Lily

Published by The Kibbitzer under Horticulture

I didn’t read too closely, it’s an out door thing, only flowers in the summer. What do I do with pot of dirt during the other 3 seasons, if they were to survive my brown thumbs or green pinkys?

苗条淑女, 君子好求?

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

I spotted her, the cheap outfit made me think that a lost child’s waiting for her parent.  Then saw her sat at the cafe eating hot dumplings, with a face of a grandma.  Rita has a friend, somewhat like this girl: a retired China Air flight attendant who’s still single and likes to dress up like cancan dancer or cheerleader: elaborated [...]

Free interest

Published by The Kibbitzer under Current Affairs, Finances

??  Does ‘Free interest’ means no interest?  :))  it probably means the interest bearing checking account is free of fees?  This bank must charge other fees to make it up, correct?

6:4

Published by The Kibbitzer under Saga, Sports

Pumpkin played her first doubles match against another school, lost 6:4.  Very close, it could have gone either way.  Tough love.  She just got home, a long day, almost 12 hours.

Short hair is cool

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports

I took them a while ago, thought to share it here .. Serena had her hair short, pretty slick.  That reminds me I need a hair cut too.  Pumpkin keeps telling me I look nice in long hair, the length belows the ears is long in my dictionary.  I much prefer a boyish cut.  But feeling the weight [...]

Sammy’s arsenal

Published by The Kibbitzer under Sports

From China with love.
Babolat (Nitro), a French brand but made in China: inconspicuous stylish and exquisitely made.  Sammy is a hot head in finding the thing, “You can’t find this one in Hong Kong.  I had to ask a friend of friend who got it for me in China.”  700 RMB, about US$100.
A pair of [...]

The Rothschild

Published by The Kibbitzer under Current Affairs

Was it last year or 2005, Bloomberg mag wrote about one branch of the fabled Rothschilds has sold their shares.. I know they started in banking out of Frankfurt but their wines are equally famous. Casually, I polled as which of the two is more well-known.  Unsurprisingly 多此一举, the answers were overwhelmingly ‘banking’.  OK, I’m provencial.

3,000 years of luxury

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Dana Thomas said that .. .. “Luxury execs demonised production in China .. .. when they declared that western European artisans were the only craftsmen who knew how to produce luxury goods.  .. China, for example, was the birthplace of luxury, and for 3,000 years reigned as one of the world’s cultural capitals.  It was communist [...]

Paying the premium

Mexican Carlos Slim is likely to replace Gates as the world richest man.  Does anyone actually care who’s the richest man on earth is beside the point.  My first thought was is that true and how did Forbes come up with the criteria to measure?  Should they consider the circumstances of the two ( .. like Gates faces antitrust challenges and [...]

The master glass

Published by The Kibbitzer under Genealogy Research

Ok, the shop made a mistake on the frame.  Instead this, they used the thinner one.  It did feel too thin, but I never thought could be an error.  I found out only when I went there for another frame, and debate if I should use the same frame.  The shop was nice, replaced the frame, [...]

Happy Mid Autumn Festival 中秋节快乐

Published by The Kibbitzer under Seefood Diet n Wine

Today is the Moon Festival 中秋节 (I like Mid Autumn better).  Moon cakes are my favored, up there with red bean, sticky rice cake 年糕, 八宝饭, tiramisu and Veniero’s chees cake.  This year I found this brand moon cake, from Shanghai with 4 flavors: jujube, coconut, sesame and chestnut, not the usual white lotus paste and [...]
