Bizwk says that the National Retail Federation predicts that back-to-college sales will increase 9% over last fall to $956.93 per student, or $47.3 billion. Are they kidding me?? Kids nowadays armed with laptop, MP3, cell, PDA, webcam etc. Yesterday I went to shopping for school supplies with Pumpkin, a middle schooler, without any of the above, I was $100+ poorer when we left Staples, a normally calm, neat and spacious place which was like a zoo at the moment. I can’t name anything we bought that worth mention.
