Diana’s 10th anniversary is fast approaching. Time asked why she still matters. I’m not sure she mattered at all, even when she was alive, aside from the paparazzi who wanted her pic so they could send their kids to college. Sure she’s beautiful, but she’s also a girl with few intellectual interests or ambitions, but whose empathetic nature led her to undemanding jobs that drew on her agreeable demeanour.. .. John Lloyd’s comment seems more precise, that she lived and died by the media. Does she still matter? Not sure. If not, then why would Time and FT all rush out to cover the former baby sitter? Hmmm .. .. many media covered Scott Peterson’s trial too.
