King’s jazz band led off the Summer Instrumental Music Concert in the high school’s auditorium, performing Hawaii Five-O, What A Wonderful World, Volcano, Hernado’s Hideaway fm ‘The Pajama Game’, I Got You, Crocodile Rock and Soul Man.  The high shcool just got their new music room, which is really nice.  As we were rushing out to pick up his sis (which we were late, due to his concert started bit late; she’s not happy.  So I’ll have to make nice with her.  Hey, how come I don’t get any gift or flowers when I was inconvenient?), King asked what are we doing next year.  Tomorrow is the last day of the camp.  Hmmm… not sure, how about going to Beijing for the 2008 Olympics?  Nay, Mom .. .. you can go alone.  Thoughtfully, he said he enjoys jazz and will do piano next year.  So no China.  What do I have to do to make them like my home town??

Our high school puts on a full length production of opera every year.  This past season was The Magic Flute.  (I’ve been saying of going for years!  Pathetic.  King’s just talking about this opera; I made a pack with him that we’ll be going this year.)  I’ve read a while ago that some high schools in the country spent upward $300k for a stage production.  Don’t know all that money can buy the quality in the neighborhood of our opera, for you have to have the talented kids.  Seriously, I’m not bragging.
