Another party

Slowpoke’s gone for another birthday party this morning, 10:30, they’ll take the train into the city; scheduled to be picked up at 3pm.

Last night we talked about it, she apologized for not calling.  I only raised my voice on my first sentence when I finally got hold of her on the phone - I was still on the street and her end’s very noisy - due to part of anger/worry, part of being lectured by a stranger who’s perhaps younger than I’m, and part of unclear connection.  I do have quick temper and lose it often with others but seldom on my family.  My reason is very simply: on the spot you might say something regretful later on, and I certainly don’t want to face that.  So, I watch my word and temper, coz my family is all too important.  With strangers or lesser knowns?  Who cares.

About 6 or 7 years ago, one day I yelled at kids for some trivial stuff; Kinglazy sat there, said evenly without any irony, “Mom, I can hear you.”  That had shut me up for good.  Seriously I don’t think I’ve raised my voice since with them.
