Colloquial English

One of colloquial English is Singaporeans’ lah, can not lah, or can lah, meaning can’t or can. They like to add lah at the end to stress their abilities or commitments.  I know they can people for petty offense, so do Singaporeans say can lah as strong affirmative to canning the kid who spitted his chewing gum, hard? :))
