k1-14759_motimage.jpgMy g/f’s Mom marched into town late last night, called me up at 9:30am this morning, needing a chauffeur basically, lol …  No, not that bad, I missed seeing her, and she wanted to talked about some biz. So hurriedly, I rushed out of the door by 9:45. Dropped off the tennis racquet to restrung, dropped off the car for oil change.. we met at 10:30 in Flushing at the Starbucks.  She looked great, got me a super duper sweet iced coffee with heavy cream. Urrrrhhhh, it’s not my thing.  But she’s the Mom, I just have to take it (later it all ended up .. spilling on me in the car, lol..).  My protest gone unnoticed anyway.  We went to the bank first.  I learned something new there.  “I heard there is a great place on Prince Street, serving Xiaolongbao 小笼包..”  cimg1509-2.JPGSo my next assignment was looking for this meat bun place.  The xiaolongbao is pretty good at this tiny eatery, called Nan Xiang on Prince Street, much better than Joe’s Shanghai.  After fighting for the bill, (she won), she decided that she’ll need a new cell, and settled on K1 in gray, very sleek, retails for $250, but she paid $45 with a new 2-year contract.  I’ll have to guarantee it (learning something new every day).  It’s another hour.  Then picked up her suitcase, picked up another friend on the way to Americana.  She got few Diors’ make ups, and pants/tops at Bebe.  I found a very pretty dress too, :) yes, in my stained skirt and feeling sticky.  Then we headed off to Costco where she found Q-10, the vitamin she needed for her friend at high place back home.  It’s 5:30pm by the time we checked out; fight the traffic back to Flushing, the last thing for me for da day was mailing her goodies home right away.  22lb (included a huge jar of Mayo, cheeses ..) cost $122.  Learned that aside from post office, FedEx, UPS, there are other venues to send things, specifically to China.  Cool.  Also she showed me the tiny place where the roast beef is just simply delicious.  After finally dropped off the other friend, I was too lazy to pick up the racquet on the way home.  Simon called for tennis, Jinyu called for tennis.. all I wanted was a glass of wine and a Jacuzzi.  Phew, what a day.  I had to quit couple of trades this morning.
