百分 - bai fen
Xiao Ping, Lisa and Judy came to play bai fen, a card game similar to bridge. We do it couple of times a year, from morning to late night to get the craving out of our systems, lol. This was the make up for our missed Chinese New Year one; we’ll do one during the summer…. For the past couple of years we’ve had it at Xiao Ping’s house because I no longer had a maid. It’s tougher than I thought, worrying about their tea/coffee/wine, snakes, lunch/dinner, plus four kids’ … thank god I teamed up with Lisa, who’s the best player among us; it’s not a competitive game for us, but still winning is a nice thing. We catch up on each other, planning the summer. I really need to invent some sort of score keeper for us, we consistently forget who’s dealer, what suit is the trump and at what level, lol …
