My 1st famir trade

Published by The Kibbitzer under Trading

A famir on DAX greeted me this morning at 10:15am … my very first self-spotted famir, :).  Over the time I’ve traded this pattern - infrequently - but always relied on the moderator.  Once I can eyeball the pattern, then the rest is easy … end up having 2 famir trades today, 1 loss 1 win with the winner [...]

After Scandals, New Legal Stars Rise on Wall St.

Published by The Kibbitzer under Current Affairs

That was the title of a NYT reporting almost two years ago to the day.  It’s about compliance lawyers have benefited from the high number of investigations into corporate finance.
Looked across the room at Babbo recently and figured that the man and woman splitting an expensive bottle of wine worked on Wall Street? Good [...]

Dallas dolls

Published by The Kibbitzer under Going Places

The W hotel in Dallas is right across from the American Airlines Center where Mavericks and Stars (hockey) play.  It has great service (there’s money) but sleazy.  When Golfer and his colleagues drove up in a SUV, there were 4 doormen open the doors for them.  And wow, they immediately saw the groupies dressed almost in nothing.  [...]

The famir pattern

Published by The Kibbitzer under Trading

Trading with Woodie is fairly simple: recognize his patterns for entry, do smart money management, then you’re in business.  He said the other day that ghost and famir patterns are the most profitable.  I can eye ball the ZLR and ghost (although I see way too many ghosts, but I don’t trade them all … only [...]

How to quit with admirable aplomb

Published by The Kibbitzer under View from Bottom

Lady Butler-Sloss, a talented British judge with 35-year career, had just resigned, citing that she lacked the degree of experience to deal with Diana’s high profile case.  Such candor is rare.  I think the smart people always know the time to exit the stage before the light is out on them.  Hong Kongers like to say if you [...]

Teed Up: Golf, K Street and Nigeria

An interesting article in NYT today the power of connection, guanxi 关系.  I felt the western media over stated the importance of connection in China.  Yes, it’s important, but where it isn’t?

Henry

NFL draft

Published by The Kibbitzer under Current Affairs

I’ve a friend in town who stays at the W on Lex at 50th Street where many the draftees stay.  This W hotel isn’t the nicest one, felt cheap.  There are many groupies around, but most of them aren’t pretty, couple of them are down right fatso … … I just love football but never been [...]

Double faults

Published by The Kibbitzer under Saga

Slowpoke played Katie yesterday.  They rallied nicely for an hour, constantly saying ’sorry’ and the other would return ‘that’s ok’, :)) ..  Each hit plenty winners!  Still would say, ’sorry’, so cute.  Toward the end, I suggested them to play a game or two.  Katie served first with 4 double faults.  Slowpoke served two double faults [...]

Protest at CBS

I got an e-mail for a protest at CBS TV station in the city at noon today.  It said little about the reason other than ‘CBS program’s humiliated Chinese … ‘  What exactly did the host or hosts say to be offensive to us?
This reminded me of an incident happened in the spring 2003 in our [...]

Kitchen clock

Published by The Kibbitzer under Saga

I’ve been burning thing at the frequency that’s alarming. So today after I blacken another load of wings, I decided that I’ll buy a kitchen clock. Slowpoke looked puzzled, “kitchen clock?” she pointed to the clocks on the MW, stove . . . “we have so many clocks…”  * & * & . . . I explained [...]

Growing pain

Published by The Kibbitzer under Kronicle, Saga

Slowpoke needs new cleats and sneakers, and bought 6.5, that’s half size bigger than mine!  Lord, I thought I’d wear her hand-me-ups for a while, guess not.  Kinglazy would kiss my forehead now that he’s much taller than I’m … its me having a growing pain, lol … or growing old issue.

Pretty women

Golfer is having a ball in Dallas.  Women in Dallas dressed to the nine to go to golf tourneys, skinpie short skirts, high heels … there were even groupies hanging around at trendy hotel W when he checked in.  Of course he said he didn’t …. but his colleagues did, :))).  The dinner party was great, with [...]
